Hotel vs Home: Why More Guests Choose Short Stay Accommodation in Birmingham

Comfortable modern living room in a furnished home

A hotel room is fine for a single night. For anything longer, it starts to show its limits — and that gap is exactly why we started Short Stay Accommodation.

A real kitchen, not a kettle. Every one of our homes comes with a fully equipped kitchen. That means breakfast that isn’t from a buffet, dinner that isn’t from a restaurant every single night, and the option to shop and cook the way you would at home — genuinely useful if you’re here for a week or longer.

Space to actually live in. Our properties range from studios to seven-bedroom houses, with proper living areas separate from where you sleep. If you’re travelling with family, colleagues, or for an event, that separation matters more than it sounds — nobody wants to spend a week in one room.

Self check-in that respects your time. There’s no reception desk to queue at and no fixed check-in window to plan your travel around beyond our standard 4pm arrival. You get a unique door code for your stay, changed with each new booking, so you and your group are the only ones who have it.

Wifi and streaming, properly set up. Every home has wireless internet and a smart TV ready for your own streaming logins — useful whether you’re working remotely or just want to unwind after a day at the NEC or ICC.

You speak to the people who own the homes. Danny and Callum run this portfolio themselves. If something needs sorting — parking, an early arrival, extending your stay — you’re talking to someone who can actually make that decision, not a call centre reading from a script.

No platform fees stacked on top. The rate you see when you check availability is the rate you pay. No service fee added at checkout, which on a longer stay can be a meaningful saving compared to booking the same property through a listing site.

If you’re weighing up a hotel against one of our homes for your next Birmingham trip, the deciding factor is usually length of stay and group size — the longer or larger, the more sense a proper home makes. Browse our properties or check availability to see what fits.
